Privacy

Bushra listens to you speak, so this page is mostly about audio: what we record, where it goes, how long we keep it, and how you get rid of it.

What we collect

When you speak to Bushra

• Audio recordings of your practice and interview sessions, stored as files.
• Transcripts — a written record of each turn, yours and Bushra's.
• Speech timing — pace and pauses, which is part of how fluency is measured.

What we work out from it

• Your estimated CEFR level, overall and per skill.
• Specific mistakes you repeat, with the sentence you said and the corrected form.
• Words you were given and whether you went on to use them.
• Session scores and written feedback.

Your account

• Email address, and your name if you give one.
• A password, stored only as a hash — we cannot read it and cannot tell you what it is.
• If you use Bushra without an account, a random guest ID generated on your device. It identifies your sessions and nothing else; it is not linked to you as a person.

If you buy a plan

• Payment is taken by Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record. Your card or other payment details go to Paddle and never reach us.
• From Paddle we keep only what we need to give you the plan: which plan you are on, its status and renewal date, and Paddle's customer and subscription IDs.

What we do not collect

• No camera or video, ever. Bushra is voice only.
• No contacts, location, photos, or files from your device.
• No advertising identifiers, and no third-party ad or analytics SDKs.
• We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising.

Who else processes it

Bushra cannot run without these services. Each one gets only the part it needs to do its job.

How long we keep it

Recordings, transcripts and everything derived from them are kept while your account is active. That is the point of them: your level and the mistakes we track are measured against what you said before, so a session deleted is a session that can no longer show you improving.

There is no automatic expiry. When you delete your account, we delete them.

Getting rid of it

You can delete your account and everything attached to it at any time. Here is how — it covers the recordings, the transcripts, your level, and the mistakes we track. If you have bought a plan, Paddle keeps its own record of the payments, as tax law requires of a seller; we cannot delete that for you.

If you have used Bushra as a guest, the sessions are tied to a random ID stored on your device rather than to you. Clearing the app's storage or uninstalling breaks that link — but the recordings stay on our servers, so it is not the same as deleting them. Use the deletion control for that; it works without an account.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct anything wrong, or have it deleted. Write to the address below and we will reply within 30 days. Deleting your account is immediate and does not need a request — see how.

Security

Everything travels over an encrypted connection. Passwords are stored only as hashes. Nobody reads your recordings or transcripts as a matter of course — they are opened only when something has to be fixed, and by the one person who runs the service.

Children

Bushra is for adults: the terms require you to be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live. We do not knowingly collect anything from anyone younger; if you believe someone under 18 has used Bushra, write to us and we will delete their data.

Changes

If we change what we collect or who processes it, we will update this page and change the date at the top.

Who we are

Bushra is an independent service run by one person, not a company. That person is responsible for everything described on this page, and the address below reaches them directly rather than a support queue.
